Bashish brings themes to the console!
It's written in pure shellscript and uses escape sequencies to change the look of the terminal.
Bashish tries to theme each console it runs under.
It operates on Eterm by default, but can also use XTerm or the Linux console and look roughly the same.
Within bashish, each application started at the command line can be themed, this way, your favourite text editor can have a Times-like font and paperish colors while at the command prompt the terminal has a white-on-black theme with a decent terminal font.
There are many themes avaliable for bashish, including authentic os-mockups, artwork based on operating systems, ascii-art themes, spartan themes and functional application themes.

Haven't tried it myself, but looks interesting.
