So this all started with my friend who's running XAMPP (yes on Windows... it's shocking I know) and he needed a way to do automatic backups of his MySQL database and htdocs. So I stepped in and created a set of backup batch scripts for his setup. Later I modified them for re-distribution.
After this I decided to go ahead and do some for LAMPP on Linux. So, here are the backup scripts for those wanting to know:
