I was curious if 1) this could even be done in bash and 2) if so, does anyone have any insight on where to start?
I need to but a classification banner on the top of the desktop (I am using Gnome), that can be specified a color (such as red) and text (such as "Company Proprietary"). This banner cannot be removed, minimized, de-anchored, etc by the user and must be on top of all other applications that are opened. The banner only has to be about 10-15 pixels in height, but needs to span the entire desktop.
