Hello,

I'm looking for a script that can track user logins from the CONSOLE only on a RHEL 5.5 system and e-mail me pertinent information about the user. I already have a working script for SSH logins that e-mails me the username/date/time and the place from which the user logs in.

Why can't you modify this script to do the same for console logins?

Hi woodson2!

How does your SSH reporting script detect user logins? It should just be a matter of detecting a login and differentiating based on the TTY type. Can you show us what you've got for SSH? Maybe we can help tweak it do report both SSH and console logins!
