Hey guys,

I am trying to write a script that will monitor a given directory and email me if certain things happen. For example: Every time a user accesses anything in /etc I would like it logged in a logfile and emailed to me. I know this is possible in a bash script. I'm just having a hell of a time figuring out which commands to use. Any help would be much appreciated. Since I'm learning, I'd actually prefer some pointers as opposed to someone just writing the script for me. Thanks in advance!
