Hi,
I am running a vmware server which hosts several guest OSes , my problem is that one guest can overload the whole server and make problems for all other virtual PCs , I need a bash script to kill the virtual server process which is overloading the server when the 5 minute load average of the server goes over 2. the name of the virtual pc processes is vmware-vmx.
any help is appreciated.
Regards

It might be better to use ulimit to prevent it from ever getting that high.

Actually I think ulimit deals with "file size" not load......

You might want to look at: vsched
http://oldwiki.linux-vserver.org/vsched+explained

You might also look into the monit utility......not sure how well it works with v-servers though.

EDIT: you might also want to look at this thread as well ;)
