I'm playing with WIFI and I'm recording the output of iwlist in a file like that: (wlan0 is the name of my wireless interface
iwlist wlan0 scanning > Output_Scan.txt
So now I'm trying to play a little bit with that file. And for example I would like to extract the ESSID names of my file. So I did the following code which running:
echo "ESSID Names:"
while read Line
do echo $Line > tmp.txt
grep -i "ESSID" tmp.txt
done < $Scan
But I'm sure we can do something nicer! What are your suggestions?
And by the way why this command doesn't run?
(...) do grep -i "ESSID" $Line (...)
Finally does somebody know if we can search several strings at once with "grep" such as:
grep "wordA" OR "wordB"
Thanks in advance for any feedback,
